The mission of l'Alliance Francaise de Milwaukee is to promote, share and enjoy the culture, language and friendship of the French-speaking world.
A non profit 501(c)3 organization created in 1918, with an annual budget of approximately $280,000. Alliance activities include French and culture classes, events, and a resource center.
The first Alliance Française was established in Paris in 1884 to promote French language and culture in the world.
There are now 1,062 Alliance Française chapters in 135 countries in the world, and 125 Alliance chapters in the U.S.
